To help the College Board and the Khan Academy break through the studying malaise, we created profiles of everyday high schoolers who were driven to succeed in the SAT as much as in their favorite after school passions.

What really made this project memorable was working with a group of real students from Oak Ridge High School in Orlando, Florida. They took time out of their busy schedules and let us follow their stories over the course of their senior year. It became an amazing collaboration as we tried all sorts of experimental shooting techniques to create videos that blurred the line between documentary and stylized commercial production.

Basically, we wanted to create a video about studying for the SAT that had as much emotional and visual energy as a Nike ad.
